Fans of England and the Netherlands got into a massive brawl right before the two soccer teams hit the pitch for their UEFA Euro 2024 semifinal matchup.
The countries were prepped to face each other in the highly anticipated match on Wednesday, and a large group of fans showed their support by getting into several altercations in the streets of Dortmund, Germany. Various footage surfaced online showing all the brawls occurring right before the game.
One clip showed people outside a bar throwing wooden stools, bottles, and even a flat-screen TV. At one point, a random guy gets hit with several punches and a stool before going back inside a bar. Another video shows police arresting several people while others are chanting in the background.
Around 80,000 Dutch fans crossed the border to support their soccer team, and were described by UK police as "risk supporters," or fans who aim to be disruptive. One of the restaurants in the area told the Daily Mail that it would be closing its doors for the rest of the day due to the excessive damage caused by the brawls.
The Netherlands couldn't send their rabid fans home happy, as they lost to England 2-1 in the thrilling match. Xavi Simons scored a goal for the Dutch, but it wasn't enough to stop Harry Kane and Ollie Watkins from hitting the back of the net for England.
The Three Lions will now head to the UEFA Euro 2024 final to take on Spain. The match will take place on Sunday at the Olympiastadion in Berlin.
